THE Management of Warri Wolves have congratulated three of its players who made Super Eagles final list to the African Cup of Nations and urged them to be a good ambassador of the club. The players are goalkeeper Chigozie Agbim, defender Azubuike Egweke and striker Sunday Mba.

Speaking in Asaba shortly after the list was released by Coach Stephen Keshi, the Chairman of the Delta State Sports Commission, Amaju Pinnick, said that the management was happy that three of its players made the team to the Nations Cup and wished them the very best. He urged the team to bring the trophy to Nigeria.

He described their selection as a welcome development saying: “these players have been well tutored by the coaching crew of Warri Wolves before joining the Eagles.

“We were very happy when the names were released and we have no choice than to congratulate the three of them especially our captain, Azubuike Egweke who we believe can give the necessary cover to the goalkeepers.      He has done it before and I am sure he will do it again.

“Chigozie Agbim and Sunday Mba, also deserve their places in the squad and we congratulate them. We sincerely hope they will go there with the fighting spirit of Warri Wolves to help in bringing the trophy, which has eluded us since we won it last in 1994,” Pinnick stated

Meanwhile, the Media Officer of Warri Wolves, Moses Etu has frowned at the Media Officer of the Super Eagles, Ben Alaiya and others for claiming that both Chigozie Agbim and Sunday Mba belonged to Rangers of Enugu when the club (Warri Wolves) had not told the world that the players had been transfered.

“Is it how it is done in other countries? Have we told anybody that we have sold the players in question? Those who are referring to them as Rangers players should know that they are doing so out of ignorance because Agbim and Uba have not been sold to Rangers.

“By the time they return from the Nations Cup, we will know who owns them. We want to advice the Nigerian Premier League (NPL) interim Board and the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) not to play any funny game with these players,” Etu warned.
