
ENUGWUABO – Ufuma, Anambra State, also played host to the second edition of Ayaya Carnival. Held on December 29, it was a spectacular event, full of pomp, entertainment and communal feasting, as the people of Enugwuabo – ufuma community and its neighbours as well as others from across the country and outside the country engaged in a celebrative carnival that brought out the best of the people’s cultural heritage.
Organised by Dazza International of Dazza Aniama (known as Dazza Dazza), a Nigerian international artiste based in Berlin, it was a memorable occasion for the people as they put on display a blend of contemporary and cultural entertainment packages amidst colourful masquerade feat, dance and musical concert.
Besides local and national artistes that performed at the one - day carnival, artistes from Berlin added international flavor to the event. According to Dazza Dazza, who described the celebration as very successful and encouraging, the team from Berlin was overwhelmed by what they saw and pledged support for the carnival even as they called for both the state and Federal Government involvement.
Dazza Dazza said he was encouraged by the peaceful organization of the event and the support shown by his people. Among the frontline people were Eze obidegwu O.Onyesoh (traditional leader of Nri), a retired Chief justice of Anambra State, Chief Godwin Anyaogu (town union leader of Enugwuabo - Ufuma), Chief Willy Okafor, Prof Alex Nduji (represented the Igwe of Inyi) while the manager of Dazza, Bishop Orji, came with artistes like 2ST,D2, Zuky Lolo and Dazaa Dazaa
for the night concert.
Ayaya Carnival will be in the Nigerian market through VCD and TV programmes from this year. The next carnival is billed for December 29, 2014.
