BROKEN is one of the latest Nollywood flicks, and really, the film literarily broke records when it was premiered at the Silverbird Cinemas, Abuja, recently.

Produced and directed by Bright Wonder, whose signature could be found in Away From Home, the premiere’s attendance saw two halls filled to capacity leading to the screening of the movie twice.

The red carpet had in attendance Nollywood stars such as Nse Ikpe Etim, Kalu Ikeagwu and Bimbo Manuel, who starred in the film. Also around to lend support were Ayo Emmanuel, Sidney Diala and other celebrities.

Coming from the stable of High Definition Studios, the highly emotional flick centres on two past lovers, whose lives are later thrown into chaos, as mistakes of their past including the aftermath of the children they fail to bring up properly in their selfish union, come hunting their present.

According to Wonder, “Broken is a social movie that addresses the menace of child abuse, neglect, trafficking, exposing its adverse effects and repercussions on the Nigerian child and on the society.”

He continues, hence it is a project that seeks to reaffirm the place of the family as the bedrock of the society, hereby using the motion picture as a channel to raise public awareness against child abuse.
