AKWA Ibom State Governor, Godswill Akpabio Friday disclosed that Enugu State Governor, Sullivan Chime, who is hospitalised in a London hospital since September 2012 will return to the country in the next 10 days.
Akpabio who appeared in a controversial photograph with the ailing governor, alongside governors Gabriel Suswam of Benue and Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers State recently, assured that Chime was well and healthy and ready to continue his duties when he returns.
Speaking to reporters at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, on arrival from an overseas trip, he expressed concern over the way the health and absence of Chime were policised, calling on Nigerians not to play politics with the governor’s health.
His words: “I was a part of the delegation that visited the governor in London and I brought a message of goodwill to His Excellency, the Governor of Enugu State and like I said, we must learn to mourn with those who mourn and rejoice with those who rejoice. We should not play politics out of people’s health. He is capable of ruling the state upon his arrival.
