GHANA coach Kwesi Appiah says Anthony Annan’s injury sustained during Thursday’s friendly against Egypt is not serious.

The midfielder was substituted after just 26 minutes when he suffered a knock and landed awkwardly following a tackle.

He was replaced by Derek Boateng as Ghana went on to win 3-0 at the Zayed Sports Complex in Abu Dhabi.

“It’s not that big,” Kwesi Appiah told the press in a post game interview about Annan’s injury.

“He didn’t land well but according to the doctor, it’s not a big deal. He should be up training tomorrow [Friday] or the next day.”

Annan will be making his fourth appearance at the Africa Cup of Nations.

Ghana beat Egypt 3-0 in the warm-up match in Abu Dhabi on Thursday to underline their form ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations.

Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu opened the scoring for the Black Stars in the first-half, before Richard Boakye and Asamoah Gyan added goals after the break.

The Ghanaians looked the better of the two sides as they completely dominated the former multiple African Champions.

The Black Stars took the lead after 18 minutes when Agyemang-Badu scored with a header from a Mubarak Wakasso free-kick.

In the 54th minute Ghana scored again when Kwadwo Asamoah passed the ball through to Boakye who scored with a shot.

Gyan sealed the win when he took advantage of a defensive mix-up to beat Ahmed El-Shenawy to score the third goal.

Ghana will next face Tunisia in Abu Dhabi tomorrow before flying off to South Africa for the Nations Cup.
