IT was a colourful gathering as Cherubim and Seraphim Movement Church (Ayo Ni O), Surulere District assembled recently for its 22nd Inter-denominational Nine Lessons Carol to remind the nation and humanity of the love of God for mankind.

Speaking during the carol, General Leader/District Chairman, Cherubim and Seraphim Movement Church (Ayo Ni O), Surulere District, Prophet Gabriel Olubunmi Fakeye, disclosed that the celebration was to remember the time God sent Angel Gabriel to Mary, Zechariah and Elizabeth about the birth of Jesus Christ.

“The lesson for today is that you must be generous to God who made you. God loves the world and gave his only begotten son to the world for us to be saved. We have already sinned and gone astray but there is hope. This time is a moment of joy and we must use it to give than to receive, ” Fakeye said.

Though Nigeria is in a state of insecurity, the man of God said no one knows what God can do or what he is doing at the moment.

Assuring that God would see Nigeria through the dark days, he explained that a winner would emerge if two persons are fighting, but Satan cannot overcome God.

“By His special grace, the will of God will prevail in Nigeria.”

Also speaking at the event, Ogun State Deputy Governor, Prince Segun Adesegun, berated the country’s democratic process.

“It is very obvious that we are missing a lot of things. We occasionally practice some level of immaturity in our democracy. I believe that if we live our life and dedicate a lot of attention to this country, things will move forward and it is for the good of all.”

The Deputy Governor added, “the most important way of achieving peace and unity is to live one’s life, be your brother’s keeper, do things without blemish and do not think evil of others.”

For those of them in politics, Adesegun noted that there is need to do a thorough rethink on how the country will move forward.

Oluwaranti Oyebade, who is the chairman of the planning committee, also identified the significance of event, saying,  “It is to remind the entire world of God’s love for humanity.”

He explained that the success of the programme was based on voluntary donation.

“People contributed freely maybe because it was a season of sharing. We see it as long-term plan and a committee is already at hand to start work for the 2013 edition.

“We attached great importance to this programme because of its significance to the entire world,” Oyebode revealed.
