THE Neo-Black Movement, a pan-Africanist organisation dedicated to the unity and development of the continent and its people in the Diaspora, has held its Business Leadership Forum in Lagos with a call on its members to rededicate themselves to the task of charting a new direction that would positively impact on their financial lives and society in general.
The aim of the forum held at Renaissance Hotel, Ikeja, was to tackle challenges facing private and public sector players in the movement, Nigeria, Africa and other parts of the world where NBM members reside and do business.
Speaking at the event the NBM’s Head (Worldwide), Mr. Bemigho Eyeoyibo, urged its members to dedicate their time, brains and resources to the upliftment and development of the organisation, their businesses, nations and the black race.
Eyeoyibo noted that one could not be a full member of an organisation without being financially and morally responsible to it.
He said that one of the programmes of the group was to train its elected officers at all levels in the operations and dynamics of the movement in relation to contemporary society’s businesses and development.
He NBM should be led by those with vision, charisma and integrity and who are determined to mobilise its members towards achieving its goals as well as economic prosperity and peace in Africa and the world.
“We need leaders with the wisdom and political will to harness the enormous natural and human resources of our land for the betterment of the society,” he stressed.
“The unemployed youths who are presently engaged in thuggery and political banditry negate our purpose of belonging, Those who wish to be recognised as genuine leaders of the movement must demonstrate a capacity to reconcile views and harmonise disparate interests in the movement. Aspiring leaders in the movement must show a scorecard of performance and accountability in the services previously rendered to the people at the zonal level.“
Speaking on the challenges of corrupt leadership, Eyeoyibo said that the situation called for a total cleansing or a complete exorcism to get rid of the demon of greed and avarice whose offspring are legion.
