THE Imo State government has begun partnership with its Delta State counterpart to check kidnapping and other forms of criminality in the two states.
Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State disclosed this at the weekend in Owerri when his Delta State counterpart, Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan visited him.
Meanwhile, Uduaghan, also at the weekend in Owerri, solicited the creation of additional state in the South East. This, he said, was necessary to keep the South-east at par with other geo-political zones in the country.
Receiving Uduaghan, Okorocha, who regretted that the state recorded about 57 kidnap cases out of which about 37 suspects were apprehended by police and security agencies in the state last year, adding that the ugly trend was disturbing his administration.
He therefore solicited a collaborative effort with Uduaghan’s administration to tackle the incident in the state in other to achieve real development in the two states.
