AS champions have emerged from the state finals of this year’s All Nigeria Secondary Schools Football Championship tagged Shell Cup, the teams are now bracing up for the zonal preliminaries scheduled for this month across the country.

According to the organisers, states including Abuja have produced their champions that are expected to compete in the zonal preliminaries holding on January 9 to 14 across the country.

From Niger, Tukura Day Secondary School, Kotangora defeated G.S.S Minna 5-3 on penalties after playing 1-1 at full time.

From Abia, Amaba Community Secondary School, Amaba beat Reinhold International School, Abriba, 1-0, Bristow Community Secondary School, Gboko, overcame Day Secondary School, Jato-Aka, 2-1 to emerge Benue State champion.

In Jigawa, Government Science Day Secondary School, Dutse were beaten 5-4 on penatlies by Model Community Secondary School after both sides played 0-0 at full time.

Government College, Nasarawa beat Government Science Day Secondary School, Obi, 2-0 to lift the trophy in Nasarawa, while in Bauchi, Government Comprehensive Day Secondary School, Bauchi thrashed Government Day Secondary School, Kofar Idi 2-0 to become the state champion.

From Osun, Progress International School, Modakeke were better than Good Tidings Educational Institute, Osogbo by 2-0, while in Rivers, it was Community Commercial Secondary School, Okoboh that defeated Archdeacon Brown Educational Centre, 3-0 to be crowned the state champion.

Government Arabic College, Gwale emerged champion in Kano after beating Ma’ahad Sheikh Uba Secondary School, Sharada, 2-1, in Taraba, Magami Government Day Secondary School, Jalingo, are champion following their 2-0 win over Salihu Dogo Government Day Secondary School, Jalingo.

Winners College proved their name by beating Ikare City Academy 2-1 to lift the trophy in Ondo, while in Ekiti, Annunciation School, Ikere, defeated Government College, Ado Ekiti, 2-0 to become winner in the state.

Other champions are Maiduguri Innovative School of Borno, Army Day Secondary School of Ebonyi, Sani Dingyadi Secondary School of Sokoto, Sambo Secondary School of Zamfara, Government College, Ibadan of Oyo; Kwara Football Academy Secondary School, Ilorin of Kwara; Christ Comprehensive School, Kakuri of Kaduna; General Murtala Muhammed College, Yola of Adamawa; Government Secondary School, Akim of Cross River; Comprehensive Secondary School, Ogwa-Chukwu of Delta; Government Day Secondary School, Bogo of Gombe; Government Secondary School, Wuse of Abuja; Purple Krown College of Enugu and  Ejenekwu Akabo Secondary School of Imo.
