THE Lord Bishop of Ife Diocese (Anglican Communion), Rt. Rev. Oluranti Odubogun, has urged Christian workers to show more commitment towards the services of God.

Speaking during the Diocese Advent Ordination of a Deacon, a Priest, four honourary Canons, two statutory Canons and collation of five Archdeacons, Odubogun told the new officers: “The purpose of ordination is to make available workers in the Church of God; workers who have been prepared and adjudged qualified and ready to join the Lord’s army in this end time.”

The cleric noted: “It is a well known fact that the enemy is still at his work of manipulation in the present age. That is why we have a lot of people who, instead of living to add value to others, pursue selfish goals. Ministers of God are, therefore, expected to make a difference by shining as light in this world of darkness.” Odubogun also called on Nigerians to be tolerant of one another, stressing that the nation can only move forward in an atmosphere of unity.

He called on President Jonathan to “make security his priority” and foster a nation “where citizens can live peaceably in any part of the country.”  The cleric appealed for concerted effort by government at tackling unemployment, even as he called for improved maintenance of road networks.
