THE last may not have been heard about Susan Harvey, popularly known as Goldie, who died earlier this year.
In a news release made available by Project Alert on Violence Against Women, the group declared that, “it has in the last few weeks read reports on various social media that the proceeds of late Susan Harvey’s (Goldie) property to be auctioned on May 1 (which is past) would be donated to Project Alert. We have also been approached by journalists asking the same questions and we have had to tell the, that we have not been formally informed by Goldie’s family and know nothing about the sales of her property and donation of proceeds to Project Alert.”
The unsigned release added: “For the records, Goldie was a Project Alert Ambassador who strongly believed in our vision and mission. On several occasions, she had embarked on speaking engagements advocating for zero tolerance for all forms of violence against women, and supported Project Alert in many ways. Very outstanding was her active participation in the 10th Anniversary Shelter Fund Raising Event in May 2009.”
it however, concluded that, “We will always remember her with fond memories, and pray that God Almighty comforts her husband, parents and siblings. May her kind and gentle soul rest in peace amen.
