THE actor, broadcaster, Bimbo Manuel had a joyous weekend last Sunday as friends, colleagues, family members and well wishers converged to celebrate the dude, who recently turned 56.

Organised by O’Jez Entertainment Forum with the support of Olawale Obadeyi, the gig attracted many Nollywoodpractitioners, including Zeb Ejiro, Zik Zulu, Dickson Iroegbu, Segun Arinze, Mahmud Ali-Balogun and hordes of thespians such as Dejumo Lewis, the Kabiyesi of the rested TV soap, Village Headmaster.

Aside from savouring plates of isi ewu and wining, the birthday bash served as a platform for networking and re-union.

The highpoint of the evening was the presentation of special gift to the birthday boy by the management of O’Jez Limited for his contributions to the nation’s motion picture industry.

Speaking at the presentation, the CEO of the entertainment outfit, Chief Joseph Odobeatu, said, “we are celebrating an icon, who at 56 has done so much for the nation with his exploits in the nation’s film industry; we are indeed proud of him.”

Among guests that graced the occasion were members of the Association of Graduates of Theatre Arts of the University of Port Harcourt, as well Prof. Mopeola Omoegun, Prof. Adekogbola, Dr. Nike Adeosun from the University of Lagos; Dr. P.K Obaseki, Prince Adeyemi Aseperi and others.

The in-house band supplied music while Elder O. Awilo tingled guests with his ribs cracking jokes.
