Nigerian troops suffer fresh attack in Darfur

LESS than a week after the Federal Government deployed two Police units to the United Nations Mission in Darfur (UNAMID), news filtered in yesterday that a UN peacekeeping mission vehicle carrying Nigerian troops in Darfur was on Saturday attacked and the vehicle hijacked along with the rifles and rounds of ammunitions.

ALHAJI Yahaya Gusau, who died recently, at the age of 93 in his Kaduna residence, was a distinguished civil servant, teacher, administrator and elder statesman. He will be specially missed particularly as he was one of the very few first generation leaders in Northern Nigeria, who through words and deeds, influenced many people in the region.
