  Banks lift transactions on the Exchange -030709

HEAVY trading in the shares of some banks in the banking subsector, especially Access Bank Plc and First Bank of Nigeria Plc yesterday enhanced turnover volume, as 553 million shares worth N4 billion was recorded in 9,226 deals as against 421.3 million units, worth N4 billion exchange in 9,620 deals on Wednesday.

The National Co-ordinator of the Progressive Shareholders' Association of Nigeria, Mr Boniface Okezie, has condemned the continuous off-loading of shares in the capital market.
