Avis Nigeria partners banks on e-payment solutions

AS part of strategies aimed at fast-tracking its services, Avis Nigeria, recently entered into strategic partnerships with four banks in the marketing of Visa credit and Master cards for e-payment solutions.
According to Avis Nigeria Managing Director, Mr. Kolawole Ogunbajo, the deal with the four financial institutions- Afribank, Diamond, Skye and Oceanic banks, was another financial option for its clients, which were mostly multinational and big enterprises to use the two globally accepted credit cards to pay for their car rental needs within and outside Nigeria.
"The advantages of using the Master/Visa card is that discounts of up to 20 per cent is granted to the customers once payment is been made with either cards", the Avis Nigeria boss explained.
He disclosed that Diamond Bank has initiated an incentive scheme for its Visa Credit card holding customers of the bank tagged "the GEM point rewards programme which enables card holders receive 20 per cent of discounts on AVIS rental rates within and outside Nigeria.
Equally, the Diamond Bank's customers can also accumulate GEM Points by using their credit cards for purchases and can redeem these points while using the services of AVIS Nigeria.
"AVIS Nigeria is forging strategic partnership with these banks in the marketing of credit cards; this will bring about a win- win scenario between the organisations as customers will be are aware of the numerous advantages of using their credit card to pay for goods and services", Ogunbajo said.
Besides, he said the partnerships with the banks would further ensure the competitive edge of Avis Nigeria as in terms of service delivery and customer satisfaction in the nation's car rental sector.
Meanwhile, Avis Nigeria is continuing his outlet expansion programme with the commencement of its car rental operation at the Akanu Ibiam Airport in Enugu, South East Nigeria.
Ogunbajo said the opening of the AVIS operations at the Enugu airport is in line with the company's expansion programme of operating at every viable airport in Nigeria.
"We are in the business of providing safe and comfortable ground transportation services to the numerous passengers that arrive and depart from the local and international airports in the country", he disclosed.
The company commenced operations 21 months ago and now has presence in 10 states at 20 locations throughout the country.
