Nigeria may soon become a major producer of commercial scale freshwater shrimp farming when the result of works being done by an institute is placed on public domain. The Nigerian Institute of Oceanography and Marine Research (NIOMR) based in Victoria Island, Lagos, it was disclosed recently, has recorded a breakthrough in inland water farming of Panaeus monodon shrimp as reported by one of the scientists involved in the project.
