THE Nigeria Table Tennis Federation (NTTF) will host an Under-16 national league between March 29 and April 8 at the National Training Centre, National Stadium, Lagos.

The event is aimed at discovering talents from across the nation, who will be part of the national junior teams and groomed from there to the senior cadre, officials of the federation have revealed. They added that the grand finale of the event, also known as Super League, would hold at the Teslim Balogun, Stadium on May 14.

According to NTTF, every state will have the opportunity to present two boys and two girls, while the top eight players in the boys and girls event will qualify for the Super League.

The NTTF advised states wishing to be part of the championship to register with the tennis federation, adding that the first 20 boys teams and the first 16 girls teams registered for the league would be allowed to take part in the event, while only players registered by states which are affiliated to NTTF are eligible to participate. Players coming for the championship are to hold the current NTTF player’s licence, which must be produced on demand, the federation added.
