The criterion, an Organization of Muslim Women in Business, Lagos District, has concluded plans to hold its 1437A.H/2016 Annual Seminar.

The One-day event with the theme: Discouraging deviant ideologies in Islam is slated to hold on the 14th February, 2016 (5th J/Awwal 1437A.H at the Lagos State University college of Medicine (LASUCOM).

According to the district’s Public Relations Officer, Tijani K.O, the seminar would afford the attendees the opportunity to listen to inspirational and soul-uplifting lectures from high profile speakers with expertise in various fields.

Some of the topics to be treated includes: Manifestation of deviant behavior, group and ideology; Misrepresentation and misinterpretation of Islamic Teachings with Alhaja Lateefah Durosinmi and Alhaji Abdul Lateef Abdul Hakeem as guest speakers.

Tijani stated that free medical checkups would concurrently be done during the seminar while ample opportunity is available for buying and selling.

The Lagos District Amirah (President) of the Criterion, Dr Yaqub Jameela, said the theme for the seminar has been specifically chosen because of the alarming rate of terrorism in the society.

The objective is to enlighten Muslim youths and parents that there are some groups who profess Islam but have ideologies that are at variant with Islam, also to enlighten people on modes of operations of such groups, how they recruit and what parents should look out for to know if their children are going to the extreme among others.
