Good and educating but..
1. Though not of the legal profession the citing of the US votes seems to be out of place simply on account of the fact that in the US every state makes its own voting law and thus is far different from the Nigerian scene.
2. There is thus understanding that when a judgement is made by the Courts, it must be seen to be fair by ‘reasonable people”. In this instance many a reasonable Nigerian just could not fathom the reason for completely jettisoning the newly introduced Voter verification which tallies the total number of people who actually turned up to vote. That helped in curbing the excesses of the election riggers without a doubt. had the Courts somehow acknowledged this instead of considering just the Voters register perhaps many could ‘see; the reasoning behind the overturning of the two lower Courts’ Ruling. Was it that the two rulings were All against the law or is it that “on the facts and the laws of the country; even if they are defective” the law is blind in absolute terms?
