Naija Nomads and Unravelling Nigeria, two independent platforms run by Nigerians who are enthusiastic about travel, have come together to make this initiative possible. Naija Unravelled is focused on unlocking some of Nigeria’s best-kept secrets. Their trips are aimed at opening the minds of Nigerians and foreigners to the vast scenic and tourist worthy attractions and locations within Nigeria. The maiden edition titled “Royals for a Night” kicked off with unlocking the majestic Kajuru Castle in Kaduna State.

The Kajuru Castle which is located in the middle of ‘nowhere’, was built by a German expatriate in 1978. Boasting of four rooms, a swimming pool and a secret room, this getaway location is dreamy and gives the feeling of leaving all your worries behind which is second to none. The twelve (12) participants of Naija Nomads who visited the castle were treated like royalty for the duration of their stay as castle only allows a group of 12 into the castle on every visit. During their stay, the lineup of activities included a royal feast, barbecues by the moonlight, hiking at sunrise, kicking back at the swimming pool while overlooking the mountains, hugging a knight in shiny armour, sleeping in royal towers and so much more! It was indeed an unforgettable weekend getaway.
