• Why Eagles can’t play friendlies ahead clash with Pharaoh

“The NFF has told Oliseh several times that he should stop responding to people’s opinion on the pages of newspapers. There is absolutely no need for it.” Those were the words of the Assistant Director, Communications, of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Ademola Olajire, while speaking to The Guardian yesterday on the latest utterances by Super Eagles coach, Sunday Oliseh, who lashed out at his critics yesterday and labelled them ‘insane.’

Some Nigerians had expressed their disappointment over the team’s miserable outing at the just concluded 2016 African Nations Championship (CHAN) in Rwanda, where the Super Eagles could not qualify from the group stage.

Rather than plan how the Eagles can fly higher in the fast approaching 2017 African Nations Cup qualifiers against Egypt, a riled Oliseh decided to go gaga, launching scathing attacks on his critics.

Apart from labeling his critics ‘insane,’ Oliseh also said on a youtube clip that the CHAN competition was the least important tournament organised by CAF.

This latest utterance is not going down well with the NFF, especially at this time when the body is working round the clock to see that the Eagles outclass Egypt in the qualification for Gabon 2017 Afcon. “Definitely, something is being done to stop it (Oliseh’s utterances),” Olajire said.

The NFF spokesman did no give details, but The Guardian, however, learnt yesterday that the body would meet within this week to deliberate on Oliseh’s frequent utterances.

Olajire also explained why it was difficult to arrange friendly matches for the Super Eagles ahead of the Gabon 2017 qualifiers against the Pharaohs of Egypt.

The Egyptian FA was able to arrange three friendly matches for the Pharaohs to put them in good shape for the double header AFCON qualifier against the Super Eagles.

Both teams will meet back to back in March 2016 to decide who qualifies for Gabon 2017. The Egyptian team recently played two international friendly games against Jordan and Libya.
Egypt currently top Group G with two points above the Nigeria.

Sunday Oliseh is an embryonic fool that first denied his heritage and then his identity, with a reckless gutter-mouth. We don’t want that fool’s name mentioned anywhere again, for it now represents FAILURES. It is time he takes his madness to Europe and stay there. We should go the way of Italy, Germany or Argentina for a foreign coach. We lacked civilized personality that is home grown who is matured enough to supervise or coach the Super Eagles. Sunday “Oliseh” was the worst of them all. Sack the fool now, we done with him. Oliseh is nothing but an irresponsible vagabond that will never take responsibility. A stunted child that fails to grow up.

You can make your point without using abusive language.

Why should Oliseh not respond to comments in the media? The Nigerian national team is not property of the NFF, but a facility of the Nigerian people.

Oliseh’s apology is meaningless because it was not from a contrite heart,He should remain professional in all instances. He is in the eye of the storm now unlike when he was the one hurling jibes at past team coaches
