NFF to inspect Kaduna facilities Thursday for Eagles/Pharaohs clash
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) on Monday in Abuja said it would on Thursday inspect facilities and equipment at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium (ABS) in Kaduna.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the inspection is in respect of next month’s 2017 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier between Nigeria and Egypt.
According to a statement by the NFF, the Federation’s General Secretary, Mohammed Sanusi, said the facilities to be inspected include the stadium’s playing pitch, dressing rooms and proposed training pitches.
“The scoreboard, sanitary facilities, spectator stands and media facilities will also be inspected,’’ it quoted Sanusi as adding.
The statement added that Sanusi would conduct the inspection alongside the Director of Facilities at the National Sports Commission (NSC), Shehu Ibrahim, and others.
We will inspect the facilities alongside officials of the Kaduna State Government and the Kaduna State Sports Ministry and State Football Association.’’
It quoted Sanusi as saying there was the need to put everything in top shape ahead of the match. The NFF will interface with the Kaduna State Government on the areas which need to be improved upon.
We will also jointly put in place a flawless medical and security plan for the match.”
NAN reports that the Super Eagles will face the Pharaohs of Egypt at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium on March 23 in one of the 2017 AFCON Qualifiers’ Match Day 3 fixtures.
The return fixture will be played in Egypt five days later.
Nigeria is currently second on the Group G table with three points from two matches.
This was after it beat Chad 2-0, also in Kaduna, in June and drew 0-0 with Tanzania in Dar es Salaam in September.
Egypt remains top of the log with the maximum six points, after beating Tanzania in Egypt and Chad away in N’Djamena.(NAN)

Please correct that error. If we beat Chad and played a goaless draw with Tanzania, then the total points we have is FOUR and not three, as erroneously reported by your medium.
We will review and take appropriate action.
