The explosives, according to the spokesman of state Police Command, Isuku Victor, in a telephone interview, were concealed in a package at Circular Road, Maiduguri.

“On reaching the scene yesterday in the afternoon, our men quickly and safely detonated the ordinance without causing any damage to life or property,” said Victor,

He added that the explosives were planted by suspected Boko Haram terrorists group and urged members of the public to be “always vigilant and security conscious” and report any suspected strange objects in any public place or soft targets of the insurgents to security agents.
