BODY of a nine-year old girl who was involved at the weekend in the Badagry canoe tragedy has been recovered, according to the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA). Its spokesperson, Ibrahim Farinloye, said search would continue for the other missing passenger, who is also believed to be a child.

All the passengers in the canoe, which capsized at Iworo while returning to Idagba, are said to be from a family. The fresh boat mishap left two people dead, coming barely a week after seven people lost their lives in a boat accident in Ijede area of Ikorodu.

The boat left Ebute Iworo Jetty en route to Daddilowe in Badagry when the crash occurred on Saturday.
