SUSPECTED cultists have beheaded a middle-aged bricklayer identified as Odion Egbegbe in Ose Quarters in Ogida axis of Benin City, Edo State.

The Guardian gathered the killing brings to two in a renewed cult fight in the ancient city.

A senior officer at the Ogida Police Station, who confirmed the incident, said a barber, simply identified as Bright, was also killed a fortnight ago in the area.

Like Egbegbe who was said to have been dragged out of his apartment, shot and beheaded, Bright was also dragged out of his barbing saloon, located opposite Ogida Police barracks and shot.

The police officer said the renewed cult war is between the Eiye and Aye (black axe) confraternities.
