Mr Lola Awoniyi, the Transition Committee Chairman, Sagamu Local Government Council in Ogun, has pledged his administration’s continued support for the State Government’s transformation agenda.

Awoniyi made the pledge while speaking with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Sagamu on Monday.

He said that the achievements of the Ogun Gov., Chief Ibikunle Amosun’s administration in all the sectors of the economy, through the implementation of the “Mission to Rebuild” programme, were noteworthy landmarks.

Awoniyi said that the state government had recorded tremendous achievements in fulfilment of its five-point cardinal agenda aimed at rebuilding the state.

According to him, the remarkable achievements in agriculture, health, education, infrastructure, transport and other sectors had brought the government closer to the people.

“More health centres have been constructed within Sagamu with the help of the state government, while some were rehabilitated and equipped with modern facilities, to meet up with new standard set by the state government.

“School uniforms and instructional materials have been distributed to students in public schools in the local government, to further enhance their performance.

“The agenda has promoted access to affordable and quality education through various special interventions and also increased access to safe and potable water,” the chairman said.

Awoniyi noted that all the developmental strides recorded by the state government had improved the socio-economic development of the local government area and he reaffirmed his commitment to the consolidation of the achievements.

“We are in the process of putting together people-oriented empowerment programmes to further enhance the socio-economic development of the council area,” he said.

Awoniyi urged the people of the state to continue to support the present administration, to enable them to further enjoy more dividends of democracy.

He thanked the members of staff and residents of the council area for their support, while urging them to brace up for the challenges ahead, to ensure success in the new year.

NAN reports that Ogun Gov., Ibikunle Amosun, upon assumption of office in his first term in May 2011, outlined the Mission to Rebuild Agenda of his administration, anchored on a five-point cardinal programme.

They are: Affordable and qualitative education; Efficient healthcare delivery; Agricultural production and industrialisation; Affordable housing and urban renewal; Rural and infrastructural development/employment generation.

The agenda is aimed at enhancing the welfare, prosperity and security of the people of the state.
