PRESIDENT Muhammadu Buhari yesterday declared that the nation’s oil giant, the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, (NNPC), had suffered all forms of abuse by the various operatives in the past, pledging to restore its lost glory.

NNPCPRESIDENT Muhammadu Buhari yesterday declared that the nation’s oil giant, the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, (NNPC), had suffered all forms of abuse by the various operatives in the past, pledging to restore its lost glory.

Towards this end, he hinted that an inter-ministerial committee would soon be raised to speed up the re-organization and reformation of the corporation.

Speaking at a meeting with the Chief Executive Officer of the International Finance Corporation (IFC), Jin-Yong Cai, at the Presidential Villa, Buhari said that the reformation of the NNPC had become inevitable in view of the corruption and abuse of its present structure in the recent past.
He also cited Nigeria’s current need to maximize income from every source of revenue as a further imperative for reforming the NNPC. noting that his administration was doing everything possible to boost national revenue so that it could effectively implement its programme of change and significantly improve the living conditions of Nigerians.

Jin-Yong Cai, who is also the Vice President of the IFC, agreed with the President that with proper reformation and re-organisation, NNPC could become Africa’s largest company.
“You have brought monumental changes since you got to power. You have brought in strong leadership and Nigeria has the opportunity under you to become highly reputable.
“In NNPC, you can create an entity that is dominant in Africa, and this is the right time to do it, with the momentum you have created,” he told the President.

Yes, NNPC suffered a lot of abuse by passed people in positions of authority. Indeed, Nigeria lost $2.8Billion oil fund while Buhari was Petroleum Minister under OBJ. The reason he can never open his mouth against OBJ’s tenure even after has been openly challenged to do so.

You probably read this nonsense and did not live through this. No $2.8billion was EVER missing and Tai Solarin ultimately admitted that this was ‘danfo’ talk. Why people like you cannot fathom that you cannot make a lie the truth by continuously repeating it amazes me.
