Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose described the ascent to power by President Muhammadu Buhari as a misadventure for Nigerians just as he called on international organisations to focus their attention on human rights abuses and contempt for the rule of law in Nigeria in 2016.

Fayose, who said he was not disappointed by the President’s response during his media chat, to question on the disobedience of court orders by the Department of State Security (DSS), added that he had said it several times that a dictator would always be a dictator and that those who helped him to power would end up in his goal of dictatorship.

In a statement signed by his Special Assistant on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka, the governor described the way and manner the former National Security Adviser, Col. Sambo Dasuki (rtd) is being treated by the Federal Government as the hallmark of a dictator.

“I warned several times that those that were promoting this lion would end up in its belly. Having heard from the President himself declaring Dasuki and Nnamdi Kanu guilty even before trial, Nigerians should be prepared for a return of the 1984 experience in which Buhari’s military tribunal sentenced people to jail terms ranging from 21 to 300 years, such that the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) had to boycott the tribunal.”

Fayose should know that if taking us to 1994 is what will better the lot of Nigerians, we are ready. If Buhari had succeeded years back then, Nigeria would have been a better place where thugs will not be holding exalted offices. PMB, ride on jare, let the dogs continue to bark, they can’t bite.

Fayose used looted Nigerian money to bribe Ekiti hungary voters with rice aka stomach infra structure to won the election, by using the military personals. In sane society politians like Fayose will be baned from politics for atleast Ten years .

It is high time we understand this fact, that the betterment of Nigeria cannot be achieve by argument of who is better or most prefered, dictatorship or democrat but by the positive involvement of every Nigerian towards the development of the nation. Politics and leadership in Nigeria is not easy.
Every leader has a positive and a negative attribute. So be it a democrat or a dictator (Machiavelli), is not important, so far the measures he takes are for the betterment of the country.

Hummmmmm!! Gov. Moonbeam is at it again – waggish assertions about the present administration. Briefly, in 1984, NIGERIANS were more civil, government employees were doing what they were paid to do, NIGERIANS were more conscious of the consequences of breaking the law, and there was respect for the rule of law. In another word, in 1984, Nigeria had a leader who wanted to do the right thing. But IBB and his cohorts derailed the train of progress. As for you, Gov. Moonbeam, time will tell and history will differentiate the MEN from the boys.

Fayose I wish you can reason well, in 1984 no one like you can ever be Ekiti state governor and personally I’m better off then than now, plus shame unto you if you are on the side of those idiots like Dasuki that means you are like them, I just read Jonathan’s new year message it’s very impressive it’s really regrettable to see people like you associating yourself with a man like Jonathan

Why can’t this guy face the issues of his state and let peace rain in this country. So pathetic that Nigeria has got to this mess due to the so called democracy!

He would always arrogantly want to be heard but to me, he is a noise maker. For crying out loud, I can’t even imagine that a man called a governor can un-button his shirts while in office like a thug! I just wish Ekiti people will call him to order so that he can represent them well.

1984 was a great opportunity missed by Nigeria to turn our country round. Buhari had the chance to tackle the unparalleled corruption of the Shagari era, but was sadly over-thrown by a thieving dictator who went on to arrogate to himself the title of President ; and with a stroke of the pen annulled a free and fair election. It was Babangida that criminally set free all the treasury looters banged in by Buhari. What happened was that from 1986 to date, all the successive governments went on to institutionalise corruption and elevated it as ethos of governance. So what the heck is Fayose and his brother Femi Fani-kayode keep making reference to 1984 as if it was the darkest moment for Nigeria. If Buhari had been allowed to continue then, the would have been the best military dictator -ship Nigeria would have ever had. Fayose and his co-bad loosers in PDP should just get over it. Unless he is planning decamp to APC.
