MRS. Olivia Ify Amakonze, a trader and a mother of five, is gradually losing grip of her life to kidney failure diagnosed on her early this year. She and her husband, Mr. Augustine Amakonze, a dealer on used electronics at Ladipo Market have had to sell off their goods in the course of the treatment and are totally left with nothing now but still, hope for her recovery seems to be elusive.

But all hope is still not lost as Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) and Zenith Hospital, Abuja, have all promised to carry out a kidney transplant on her, but the cost of the procedure is posing a great challenge to the process and her survival.

With LASUTH seeking N4.5 million for the transplant and Zenith Hospital, Abuja, seeking N6 million for the same procedure, the family has come out to appeal to Nigerians to come to their aid and help save their wife and mother.

Speaking to The Guardian at their residence on No. 14, Aliu Street, Ikotun-Egbe, Lagos State, the visibly emaciated Olivia, whose legs have swollen up, disclosed that she was in great pains and needs the help of Nigerians to regain her health and take care of her family, adding that the family has suffered a great deal since she was diagnosed of the disease.

“Kind -hearted Nigerians who want to assist her can pay into: Amakonze Augustine, Zenith Bank, account number: 2002463320.
