No fewer than five people have been confirmed dead, while 13 others were critically injured in an accident, which occurred yesterday afternoon along the ever-busy Lagos-Ibadan expressway.

The accident, which occurred at the “Eldorado” axis in Ayetoro village in the Mowe corridor of the expressway in the Obafemi Owode Local Government Council of Ogun state, involved a DAF truck with registration number (OYO) GNN 774 XA and a white Mazda passenger bus marked (LAGOS) APP 36 XA.

The accident was caused by the white Mazda passenger bus travelling outward Lagos on top speed, which lost control and rammed into the stationary DAF truck.

An eyewitness told newsmen that a nursing mother and two of her children were among the five persons confirmed dead in the auto crash, which happened around 1: 20 p.m and eventually resulted in a heavy traffic gridlock along the expressway.
