DEPUTY Governor of Bauchi State, Alhaji Nuhu Gidado, and 20 others have been sworn in as commissioners and political advisers respectively.

Swearing in the 15 commissioners and five political advisers yesterday, Bauchi State Governor, Alhaji Mohammed Abubakar, assigned his deputy to serve as the Commissioner for Education.

Abubakar said the commissioners are expected to restore public confidence and demonstrate leadership qualities in their various ministries.

He tasked the new commissioners to be servants to the people rather than masters in discharging their responsibilities.

He said, “I will remove anybody found wanting in the course of discharging his duties. Corruption should be avoided.”

Among those appointed are Dr. Audu Gani, Commissioner for Mines, Energy and Environment; Nasurideen Mohammed, Finance and Economic Development; Dr. Halima Mukaddas, Health; Ali Abubakar Tatari, Works, Land and Housing and Hajiya Asabe Hamma, Women Affairs.

Others are Mohammed Gazali, Water Resources; Ibrahim Yakubu, Justice; Yusuf Yakubu, Agriculture; Sarky Mohammed Akuyam, Community and Rural Development; Baba Madaki, Information and Barau Ninfield as Commissioner for State Planning and Development.

Those appointed as special advisers are, Yakubu Ibn Mohammed, Media and Communications; Air Commodore Tijani Baba Gamawa, General Services; Habu Maman, Special Duties; Sarajo Dada, Due Process and Brigadier General Laden Yusuf (rtd) Security.
