The abandoned Omor Rice Mill, with 5,000 hectres of farm, which has now been fully rehabilitated, is expected to deliver not less than 5,000 jobs when fully functional, according to the Anambra State Government.

Special Assistant to Governor Willie Obiano on Investment, Prince Ifeanyi Anugwu, made this known in a retreat session organised by the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Awka.

Already, over $160 million has been invested in the Rice Mill with 5,000 hectares farmland for rice cultivation and processing by investors.

The retreat was intended to avail members of the party of information on the performance of Obiano and also shore up support for Chief Victor Umeh in the oncoming re-run of Anambra Central Senatorial District election.

Anugwu attributed Obiano’s achievements so far in office to his background as a technocrat, banker and auditor.
