Ken-Saro-Wiwa-in-1993-001THE Movement for the Survival of Ogoni People (MOSOP) has declared as successful the 20th anniversary of the death of the late Niger Delta activist, Ken Saro-Wiwa and other fallen heroes of the Ogoni nation.

It subsequently commended its domestic and international supporters for their support and participation in the activities earmarked by the organisation for the celebration, even as it vowed that “legitimate Ogoni campaign would be sustained.”

A statement yesterday by its Media/Public Affairs Advisor, Bari-ara Kpalap quoted the MOSOP President, Legborsi Saro Pyagbaraas saying:

“Words may not be enough to express our joy and heartfelt appreciation for this support and effective participation in the joint celebration. We deeply commend the quality of your minds and commitment defying crass and devious attempts by a section of the local political class demonstrating masked hate for the community for parochial, political interest.
