Governor Olusegun Mimiko of Ondo state

In a bid to stem the increasing cases of diabetics in the country, the Ondo State Government has embarked on intensive eating right campaign, urging the people of state to also add exercises to the precautionary measures to check the killer disease.

The State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Dayo Adeyanju made this exhortation during the 2015 World Diabetics Day celebration in Akure, advised the students, stakeholders and other participants in the state to desist from unhealthy eating practice.

According to him, death that occurred as a result of diabetics is a colossal loss to the state, affirming that if the people imbibe the habit of eating right, it has been confirmed to abate by 70% the risk of having diabetics.
