What???
This information is fake. The NCA did not say anything of the sort to anyone at Guardian, either in Nigeria or in London. What the NCA has done is first to arrest Allison-Madueke, so they can seize her passport and restrict her movements. To seize that money they must have shown the judge satisfactory prima facie evidence that it could be the proceeds of crime. Now they can launch an open and full investigation into the activities of the woman and her cohorts. And incidentally President Jonathan would not be spared. With the court’s permission the NCA can now subpoena documents from companies, banks, real estate bodies, etc. What the NCA is doing now is to complete the investigation started in 2013. Guardian is lying when it reports that the NCA is not planning to charge Allison-Madueke to court. In actual fact, the NCA is planning to charge her to court, as soon as they complete their investigation, which includes obtaining additional evidence from Nigeria, other EU countries, and the USA.
Do have any verifiable word from the NCA that they plan to charge her? And why shd we accept ur version rather than that of The Guardian? Do u know more about this whole than the NCA? Pls enlighten us.
Scottie McFarland is explaining how the judicial system is set up and how it works under all circumstance.
No special system or treatment for anybody, the system is grandfather in for all
This is a mini tutorial for all, this online new magazine need to double check it source, the gentle man above makes the judicial sense
Law enforcements in developed world do not work like that. You do not arrest a person, grant her bail, impede her international passport, thereby restrictions her movement without planning to charge the person to court for some offence. Guardian is clearly lying here.
Who told u they seized her passport? The NCA? Lai Mohammed or Shehu Garba or Adams Oshiomole?
sahara reporters… loool
This is The Guardian.
Where did u read that her passport has been seized? “To seize that money they must have shown the judge satisfactory prima facie evidence that it could be the proceeds of crime.” If they have done that what more remains but to charge her? And why have they still not charged her? Have u asked urself why she was not even in court?
And who are you?
Your name doesn’t sound Nigeria, if you are not Nigerian please stop commenting because it is none of your d*nm business but if you are, then all you posted is your personal wish which amounts to absolutely nothing so save your breath. This is not to say I support the looting of our common wealth anyone found guilty should be severely punished, to me no punishment is too much including capital punishment as long as it applies across the board with no sacred cows.
Hallo “Scotie …”! Why are you so sure that “The Guardian is lying when it reports that the NCA is not … ” (to quote your write-up)? And to paraphrase some of the numerous, true fellow Nigerians, who have rightly attacked “your version” of that dramatic event that happened somewhere in the heart of London yesterday; why should we accept “your version” of the aforesaid event, instead of The Guardian’s? Are you a spokesperson for the British NCA (which explains – by the way – why you deliberately coined your pseudonym to look and sound English!) or just one of those ‘fugee Nigerians, living or hiding somewhere in the Island of Britain (while awaiting your full residency visa application result) and meanwhile clandestinely working for any or all of the following rogue Nigerian politicians, namely: Messrs. Lai Mohammed or Shehu Garba or Adams Oshiomole et all?
Nevertheless, the following are quite clear: (1) You are neither an Englishman nor a Scot; not even a European (for crying-out loud). I know where you’re coming from – judging from the character of judgment, writing and presumptions! However, I will leave that out here, for the purpose of clarity.
(2) Suffice to say, that The Guardians “information” is not “fake”; rather if anything, it is you, who is fake!
(3) It turned-out yesterday, that the Brits out-smarted the numerous news-hunters-cum-self-styled-“anti-corruption-crusaders”; many of them, who are nothing, but busy-bodies! They simply waited foolishly in front of that London police station all day in vain (for self publicity sake), while the Brits duly accorded Ms. Deziani Alison-Madueke full respect; and who as I understand, only flew into that Island-country – to undergo a serious medical treatment – and a lot was going on behind them! Isn’t that a wow?
(4) If one may ask, what have these other Nigerians over there personally contributed to the development of Nigeria as a people – apart from their loots (including illegally receiving British social benefits), which they share only with their immediate family members in Nigeria?
(5) While not playing a legal defence lawyer for Ms. Alison-Madueke, suffice to say, that she has contributed immensely to the growth of the Nigerian economy by:-
(a) successfully formulating the Nigerian local contents Bill and getting it passed in the Nigerian National Assembly (NASS) as an act. Which is why presently there are so many Nigerian oil companies operating both in the down- and up-stream sectors of our economy. Thanks to that great lady! (b) of course she single-handedly reduced the pump-price of fuel (PMS) from a whopping 150 NGN (Naira) to only 87 NGN; even at the eve of the hand-over of the previous government of the “clueless one”, GEJ, till this day! Shouldn’t Nigerians learn to be grateful to a very-honest-to-goodness lady? Time will tell. Period.
Mr McFarland, Pls forget not to remind the NCA about such other names as Tinubu, Amaechi et All. I am sure additional evidence can also be obtained from Nigeria, other EU Countries & the USA.
It should shock the conscience of EVERY NIGERIAN to hear of such loss. But here we are playing the same old games. What is wrong with you people in that place?????
When is the Guardian going to complete this story? I weep for my dear old newspaper flagship for being absent minded!
Why always Biafrans? we know exactly whats going on here, they just wanna demonize Biafrans to tell the world that their favorite slave hausa fulani is the only trust worthy in the zoo(Nigeria) so that free oil and gas will continue to flow to UK and also to assure that their creation remain intact cus they’re god to Nigerians.
I am not against trying anyone but he that goes to equity must go with clean hand.
Let British Govt stand trial for the fraud they created in 1914 called Nigeria then Dieziani madueke will queue inline behind Britain and all the hausa fulani and Yoruba criminals like Obasanjo,BABANGIDA,UMARU DIKKO,TINUBU,BUHARI,ABACHA and numerous others to mention. That will be fair not always picking on only Biafrans,is there any other zoo(nigeria) official imprisoned in UK apart from a Biafran? Ibori is there,Alamaiysia narrowly escaped but today Britain is still hunting for him.
Britain killed 6 millions Biafrans in 1967-70 in her war of extermination cus of oil and gas and still doing so till today.
When will they destroy this remaining colony of theirs called Nigeria for we to develop and have a better life like them in UK
Follow the link to see those Britain should have arrested before Dieziani Madueke
Nigerian Looters With Billions In Foreign UK Banks
https://talkofnaija.com/local/world-bank-releases-list-of-nigerian-looters-with-billions-in-foreign-banks
Tell me why Britain don’t see anyone in the list culpable to stand trial. i pity poor ignorant Africans. Britain think they are god, toying with the lives of the so called Nigerians. We are Biafrans
Pls read this article to know reason Britain created Nigeria was only for their business interest not the interest of the people they gathered together and called Nigeria(Nigger-Area). That creation was a time bomb which eventually exploded in the 1960s 6 millions helpless Biafrans were murdered by Nigeria/Britain. The trick of British colonialism was the divide and rule system. They knew the nature of the nations who inhabit that area before they forcefully merged them in an unholy marriage
https://www.worldsocialism.org/spgb/socialist-standard/2000s/2008/no-1246-june-2008/nigeriabiafra-and-oil
Arresting looters and trying them has no developmental effects on the lives of impoverished people in that area rather its still the same old instrument of enslavement used by British, the only thing that will change their lives is for Britain to destroy that colony she called Nigeria to disentangle our people from this abyss of death and let the different components go and live in their natural homes. Biafra is not related to Arewa nor Oduduwa related to both then you asked why are they living together?
The existence of Nigeria is the reason Bokoharam is killing. Britain knows about it instead of them to dissolve the Nigeria to save lives they are only interested in the oil and gas. Have they investigated who formed Bokoharam and how they are getting weapons?,..we sure they wont cus chaotic Nigeria is advantage to their colonial existence for the constant flow of oil and gas from BIAFRALAND.
what happen to ibb, obasanjo and buhari loots, u.k should stop taken over nigeria case.nigeria as state must carry its burden.
We will review and take appropriate action.
