Tecno launches karaoke competition

IN a bid to promote the entertainment industry and help showcase talent of karaoke singers, Techno, a leading mobile phone brand in association with Africa Magic have announced the “Techno own the Stage” karaoke competition, which will includes participants across the continent.

IN a bid to promote the entertainment industry and help showcase talent of karaoke singers, Techno, a leading mobile phone brand in association with Africa Magic have announced the “Techno own the Stage” karaoke competition, which will includes participants across the continent.
 
General Manager, Mobile Apps, Techno Mobile, Oye Akindeinde, emphasised that Techno is hinged on continuously strive for greatness. “Africa is brimming with love and undeniable talent for music, there are lots of people who, given an opportunity will showcase to the rest of the continent and indeed the world just what they are capable of. The techno own the stage competition gives them the opportunity and the platform to do just that.
 
“Our products and growth across Africa are a testament to our drive from perfection, success and harnessing the best in the markets we operate in. The Techno own the Stage competition is simply in furtherance of this fact.”
   
Speaking further on the how to participate in the competition, Akindeinde said prospective contestant should visit the Techno own the stage website and select a track from the track list. The contestant then records a karaoke rendition and uploads the track via the submission form on the website. The uploaded track is then subjected to a review by the judges who select the top entries with successful entrants notified personally. The audition phase, which will be televised on Africa Magic gives selected participants opportunity to showcase their talent.
   
In his words: “over the next three months, 15 contestants will be chosen from Nigeria, Kenya, and Tanzania and will contest through a number of themed challenges with one person emerging the winner as Africa first karaoke champion. Talented karaoke singers from across the continent will compete for a prize pool of $50, 000 with an opportunity to record a song and go on tour with a renowned musical artist.
