HIV/AIDS: Kano Govt. will collaborate with development partners — Official

Dr Sa’adatu Bala, the Director-General, Kano State Agency for the Control of Aids (KSACA), said on Monday that the state government would collaborate with development partners in the fight against HIV/AIDS.

Bala said this at a stakeholders’ meeting with officials of the Federal Ministry of Finance and the top management of the agency in Kano.

She said that the state government, under Gov. Abdullahi Ganduje, would implement all programmes aimed at combating the HIV/AIDS scourge and improving the well-being of its citizenry.

In his remarks, Dr Emmanuel Alhassan, the Director, Partnership Coordination of the National Agency for the Control of Aids (NACA), said that Kano was an indispensable partner in the HIV/AIDS programme.

He said the team was in Kano sensitise the state government to participate in the programme jointly being implemented by NACA and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

According to him, the project has greatly assisted Nigeria in combating the HIV/AIDS scourge, particularly in the area of prevention, care and support.

‘’Kano is the only state in the country that has yet to benefit from the project,’’ he said.
