As the security intelligence community in Nigeria grapple with weeding out fragments of Boko Haram members hiding among the people, the Defence Headquarters has warned Nigerian to be conscious of concealed bunch of bombs in any part of the country.

The alert, according to the acting Director Defence Information (Ag.DDI) Col. Rabe Abubakar became necessary following the recovery of a similar catches of the bombs by the Nigerian Army Engineers serving in Adamawa State, thence the need to “inform Nigerians living in the northeast and any other parts of the country to keep a lookout for cluster bombs sometimes called scatter bombs”.

A statement from the DDI yesterday in Abuja said that the Boko Haram terrorists hade been using this fatal contraption to cause mayhem in the country. “Some cluster bombs carry several hundred of very small explosives wrapped in a metal container like a pot while others carry larger submunitions that can find specific targets such as tanks. Some of these submunitions do not blow up immediately, but remain behind and act as landmines”.
