About the programme

Around this season every, year, we gather together the youth of the RCCG for life transformation, where the youth have the privilege of exploring opportunities that would grant them change of mindset and run with a vision for the year.
The theme

The theme for this year is: “Carriers of His Glory.” This explains the direction the Lord is taking us to, a situation whereby participants would leave here, carrying with them, the glory of God with a view to reaching out to make an impact. This is the focus.

Sports festival

This year, before the National Youth Convention, we shall be having a National Youth Sports Festival, which is a gathering whereby we have our youths from the 24 regions of the RCCG. They are coming together to manifest and display their skills. They would compete under a very conducive atmosphere in various sports including football, basket ball, volley ball, tennis, table tennis and high jump among others.

It would be quite interesting and we have made it so to be a kind of tool for evangelism. So, we are using this medium to gather the youth so that they would celebrate the gift of God in them. The sports festival is slated for September 21 to September 28, 2015. This ushers us into the National Youth Convention.

Rise 10

We are also having ‘Rise 10’, (the tenth edition of Rise programme) as part of the Convention to make the youth entrepreneurs and employers of labour. They would undergo various courses including Video Editing, Website Design, Photography, Soft Interior Decoration, Event Décor, Baking, Fish farming, Paint Making, Driving, Desktop Publishing, Laptops Repairs, Project Management, Ankara Craft and lots more.

These are part of youth initiative to create values in the youth. Many youths that attended these courses in the past obtained their certificates and have become something in life. These youths acquire knowledge that turns their lives around. For example some have laptops and do not know that they can do so many things with their laptops and make money. They only not become entrepreneurs, but they also teach others. About 3,000 have benefitted from Rise programme. Participants would pay a token of N15,000.000 for the courses to take care of accommodation, feeding among others.

Nigeria shift

We also have as part of the programme, “Nigeria Shift” where once again youths will discover their talents and be given the opportunity to show-case them. There would be one week audition before the real Shift as usual. Talents such as public speaking, innovation, dancing, creativity among us will be displayed among many competitors. We also have the Niger praise coming up on the Independence Day. Youths shall be gathering to stand in for Nigeria. We know that when we praise God, power of God would be made manifest upon the nation. Youths are coming from all over the country. We also have a lot of seminars and teachings.

Some winners during Shift programme in the past have got as part of their awards the sum of N100,000.00. After discovering their talents, they were able to channel aright the usage of the money and today, they have become something in life.

Facilitators

The Youth Convention for this year will feature prominent ministers and pastors, who will be touching the life of our youth. It should be noted that participants are not limited to RCCG youth alone as the door is open to youths from every nooks and corners of Nigeria. We are sure the Lord would be touching their spiritual growth, their business life, relationship, politics and various aspect. We are believing the Lord that after the convention, as carriers of His Glory, wherever they go, they would make an impact.

Among our facilitations for the Convention, we are expecting the Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, who will be ministering to the privileged youth in attendance.

Each day, we have various programmes that are being packaged to challenge the life of the youth to manifest nothing short of excellence. Since anyone, who carries the glory of God is special, all the youth participating in the conference must excel. According to the scriptures that says: “Arise and shine for glory of God is upon thee” these youth that are going to be carriers of glory will definitely arise and shine forth.

“Without any gainsaying, the conference will proffer solutions to many challenges confronting them and they will go forth and be significant, succeed and shine. They are going to be for signs and wonders. They will make impact in every sphere of life.

We are pleading with every youth in Nigeria to be part of this great convention that will be starting on September 28 to end October 2, 2015.
