Nigeria produces 95,471 metric tonnes of gas

Nigeria’s gas production has declined by 5.56 per cent to 237.40 billion standard cubic feet of gas (BSCF) in the month of June this year.

The country flared about 17.15 per cent of the total gas production during the month under review.
Latest Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) monthly report released recently, disclosed that the total Natural Gas Liquid (NGL) produced for the month of June 2015 was 95,471.0 metric tonnes.

It said that out of the total gas produced, Mobil had about 48,490 metric tonnes and NNPC, 46,710 mt while a total of 76,008 MT was lifted for the month.

The report stated that this month, 569.84 thousand barrels of crude oil was received by Warri Refining & Petrochemical Company (WRPC), Port Harcourt Refining Company (PHRC) had an opening stock of 974.47 thousand barrels while total crude oil available for processing was 1,544.31 thousand barrels out of which zero barrels was processed.

It put the respective average capacity utilization during the month as 0.00 per cent, 0.00 per cent and 0.00 per cent for Kaduna Refining Petroleum Corporation (KRPC), PHRC and WRPC respectively.

This month, 569.84 thousand barrels of Crude Oil was received by WRPC. PHRC and WRPC had an opening stock of 974.47 thousand barrels, total Crude Oil available for processing was 1,544.31 thousand barrels out of which zero barrels was processed. The respective average capacity utilization during the month was 0.00 per cent, 0.00 per cent and 0.00 per cnet for KRPC, PHRC and WRPC respectively.
“Total national domestic refining had apparent production of -4,068 mt of finished and intermediate products from blending. PPMC which lifts products from the refineries evacuated 63,788 mt of products.
“Altogether 3,082 mt of products was used by the three (3) refineries as fuel to fire the boilers and maintain the plant”, it stated.

The report disclosed that NNPC Retail Limited and Independent Petroleum Products Marketing Companies distributed about 383.08 million litres of various petroleum products in the 36 States and FCT in June 2015.
This, it said showed decrease of 5,06 million litres or 1.30 per cent when compared with the total volume distributed in May 2015 (388.13) million litres).

It stated: “The NNPC Retail Limited distributed 128.94 million litres (33.66 per cent of the total sales) of petroleum products, while the Independent Marketing Companies distributed 254.14 million litres (66.34 per cent).
“Distribution by product shows, Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) had the highest figure of 363.19 million litres (94.81 per cent) of the total reflecting average daily sales of 12.11 million litres.
“This was followed by Household Kerosene (HHK) in the distribution slate with total figure 11.13 million litres (2.91 per cent), giving an average daily figure of 0.37 million litres.”

Automotive Gas Oil (AGO) came third in the petroleum products distribution slate with total figure 8.61 million litres (2.25 per cent), giving an average daily figure of 0.29 million litres. Low Pour Fuel (LPFO) and others constituted the remaining part of the distribution.
