Tottenham join Aston Villa, West Ham in race for Moses

After going three matches without a win, London club, Tottenham Hotspur, have joined the race to sign Super Eagles winger, Victor Moses, who is one of the players slated for transfer by Chelsea.

Spurs have started the season with a loss and two consecutive draws, including the most recent 1-1 finish with surprising early upstart Leicester City over the weekend, leaving Mauricio Pochettino desperate for more attacking options at the start of the campaign.

The desire is technically nothing new, as Spurs were seeking another scorer to draw some attention away from star striker Harry Kane for much of the summer, but now White Hart Lane officials seemed to have increased their efforts for the cause.

Express reports the Blues are now eager to offload the Nigerian winger after signing Pedro from Barcelona. In recent years, Moses has been on loan with Liverpool and Stoke City.

West Ham and Aston Villa are also reportedly interested in the 24-year-old Moses, who is valued at about £8 million. Aside Moses, Tottenham is also eager to bring promising West Bromwich striker, Saido Berahino, to the White Hart Lane.

Multiple reports claim the Baggies turned down Tottenham’s £15-million bid for the 22-year-old Berahino even though it was £3 million more than his current valuation and against the player’s wishes to join White Hart Lane.

The Telegraph added that Spurs are preparing a bigger offer with defender Federico Fazio intended to spice up the deal, but that West Brom chairman, Jeremy Peace, is holding out for £25 million for Berahino as the club doesn’t wish to part with a player that rose through its academy.

Pochettino also recently contacted the representatives for Brazilian striker, Alexandre Pato, according to Metro. Pato, who has suffered from multiple injuries, has suffered through numerous setbacks in form with AC Milan, as well as in the Brazilian league with Corinthians and Sao Paulo.

However, Tottenham may consider taking a chance on him if the price is low. According to Jason Burt of The Telegraph, Pato has received interest from Manchester United, Chelsea, Stoke City and Sunderland, though it’s difficult to understand why considering Pato hasn’t featured for Brazil’s lackluster national team since 2013. Lazio and Turkey’s Galatasaray have also reportedly shown interest in the 25-year-old.
