IN its effort to create more jobs in the country, the Federal Government under the National Directorate of Employment (NDE) has trained 50 women on basic business skills of making cosmetics, perfumes, soaps and insecticides for domestic use in Gombe State.

The state Co-ordinator, Alhaji Ibrahim Audu, who disclosed this while speaking at the end of the training in Gombe, also charged them to utilise the knowledge positively on their lives.

He said the objectives of the programme were to create more job opportunities for women to be self-reliant and to reduce the pressure on their husbands to the minimal.

According to him, at the end of the day, they were expected to be self-reliant and train others to benefit from the experience in their respective local councils where they come from.

Audu, who called on the women to consider themselves as very lucky for being among the beneficiaries of the programme, said at the end of the training, they are expected to write bankable possibility reports that would be used for accessing loans from banks for them to establish a full-time business.
