Ambode Vows To Take Lagos Youths Off Streets

LAGOS State Governor Akinwunmi Ambode, yesterday said his administration would give priority attention to youth empowerment as part of measures to take the teeming unemployed youths off the streets of Lagos.

The governor who disclosed this while commissioning the newly reconstructed multi- purpose Onikan Youth Centre said the nation’s youths need the support of both the public and private sectors to excel in different areas of endeavour.

Ambode, who commended the management of PZ Cussons foundation for the project, noted that the youth centre would assist the state government in its quest to make the youths productive.
He urged the youths to make best use of the facility to develop themselves and be the best they can be, saying that youths must be willing to put in the required efforts to succeed.
The governor charged other private sector organisations to come up with credible projects as their Corporate Social Responsibility to stimulate the society.

Meanwhile, the governor has approved the appointment of Ayo Agbesanwa as the Director General, Lagos State Sports Commission.

Ambode in a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Habib Aruna, reiterated his commitment to revive sports development in the state, adding that Agbesanwa’s years of experience in the field will be key to driving the objectives.
