Wike asks France to back war on insurgency

RIVERS State Governor, Nyesom Wike, has implored France not to relent in its support for the fight against Boko Haram and to make Nigeria safer for local and international business activities.

The governor stated this during French National Day in Port Harcourt at the weekend. Wike, who emphasised that security is key to development, assured French nationals in Port Harcourt that his administration has taken steps to improve security in the state.

He said: “Terrorism is now a global phenomenon. That is why we call on France to continue to support the fight against Boko Haram. We will always have a wonderful relationship with France.”
