IT was a night of glamour last Friday at Club Escape in Victoria Island, Lagos as top music acts, celebrities and A-list guests graced the official launch of two new products by Kasapreko into the Nigerian market.

Kasapreko, a Ghanaian firm, which also manufactures the popular Alomo Bitters, had chosen the exquisite ambience of Club Escape to introduce their new products – Kalahari Bitters and Carnival Strawberry Liquor. And of course, a select audience of stars, top business executives and special guests was also on hand to witness the momentous launch, themed, ‘Two Can Play.’

Expectedly, there were no disappointments. Top officials from the National Agency for Food And Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), Advertising Practitioners Council of Nigeria (APCON) and Consumer Protection Council (CPC) were in attendance, just as on-air-personality, Olisa Adibua, and musicians, Rugged Man, Weird MC, JJC Skillz, Chudy K, Mbryo, among others, were also present. JJC Skillz delivered on a thrilling performance on the night.

Speaking at the launch, the Managing Director of Kasapreko Company Nigeria Limited, Kojo Nunoo pointed out that both new brands were the outcome of painstaking research and development work in the company’s laboratories in Ghana.

Kalahari bitters and Carnival strawberry liquor, he said, are premium products that have been tested and trusted in Ghana before entering the Nigerian market. “These products have been tested and trusted, especially the Carnival strawberry liquor which our ladies have already found attractive because of its sweet taste.

“We called these products ‘two can play’ because when they are mixed together, they make a perfect combination. We believe that Nigerian consumers will find them really attractive. The bitters is good for enhancement of manpower, while the liquor is just adequate and not over the top.

“These products have done really well in Ghana and are more than certain to do better in Nigeria because they are the big brothers of Ghana. The Nigerian market is very sophisticated and that was why we decided to create the right atmosphere and ambience to launch it,” Nunoo said.

On his part, the Marketing Manager, Peter Adegor said that Kalahari and Carnival are being brought to Nigeria to fill identified gaps in the spirit market. “The brands are targeted at the Nigerian population who are more sophisticated, discerning and desirous of standing out from the crowd.”

Adegor described Kalahari Bitters as “a fine blend of extracts of herbs and aromatic spices with a bitter-sweet taste, ideal for the Nigerian consumer who has a distinctive and sophisticated palate.”

He added that the product compares with any world-class drink, and it is best taken straight or mixed in scintillating cocktails. “Carnival Strawberry Liquor is a perfect blend of strawberry flavour and fine spirits to stimulate those pleasurable moments that gives that alluring experience when enjoyed straight or mixed. It is another world class blend suitable for the contemporary Nigerian woman who desires a signature drink,” Adegor said.
