Tears of joy as church donates to IDPs in Bauchi

IT was a day filled with tears of joy as the Pastor of Alpha and Omega Fire Ministry Int’l donated foodstuff and clothing materials to victims of Boko Haram and communal crises currently taking refugee in many camps within Tafawa Balewa Local Council of Bauchi State.

Distributing relief materials to the victims at the weekend, Pastor Yakubu Samaila Bauchi, the founder and senior Pastor of Alpha and Omega Fire Ministry, a.k.a City of Rest, said he had no inclination that he would be a worker in God’s vineyard.

“I was living my life in Jos doing my business but God’s voice came to me, urging me to come home and serve His people through preaching His gospel. The Almighty also told me that I should not worry about where members would come from, that people would come from all over the world to receive His deliverance and miracles through me in my homeland.”

“And true to His faithful words many people whom I never thought I would meet have been coming to me and God has been working wonders as he promised. I give thanks to the Almighty for using me as His tool,” he said.

Beside the food items and clothing materials Bauchi also offered scholarships to secondary schools level for 30 children of Boko Haram victims as well children of the communal crises who have lost either of their parents.

He also gave out cash and sets of baby kits to expectant mothers. Among the expectant mothers were women who had never conceived before joining his ministry, but got pregnant as a result of his prayers and intercession.

He explained that the food items are meant for victims of insurgency especially those that were affected in Nasarawa, Borno, Yobe, Bauchi, Gombe, Taraba and Kano States.

According to him: “These victims are passing through hardship, some of them have no food to eat, clothes to wear or send their children to school for a better tomorrow.”

Pastor Bauchi believed that among the children are potentials pastors, national and state lawmakers, medical doctors, governors and even heads-of-state.

Expressing their joy and appreciation to God for using the pastor to reduce their sufferings, Mrs. Rebecca Kyauta, in tears of joy, said her house was razed in Nasarawa state during the communal crises and it was by the grace of God that she escaped with her three children.

She said her husband die two years ago leaving her with the three children. “We lost everything that my husband left behind as inheritance to his children, things were hard over there and to get food for my children and myself was very difficult,” she said, as tears ran through cheeks.

Kyauta thanked the man of God for not only providing foodstuffs for her family but for also giving two of her children scholarships, giving them hope for a brighter future.

Collecting his food items and clothings, 40- year- old Yakubu Irmiya said he lost his father and other personal belongings to the insurgents in Damboa, Borno State but escaped with his wife and two children aged seven and 10 years respectively.

Irmiya said: “Since we escaped from Damboa through the bush, we have been living from hand to mouth. Some days we sleep without food and water, walking through the bush.”
