Permanent Sec commends effort to promote ICT in schools

The Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Education, Dr. MacJohn Nwaobiala,has commended Krystal`s Microsoft I.T Academy’s effort in promoting Information Communication education in unity schools across the country.

The Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Education, Dr. MacJohn Nwaobiala,has commended Krystal`s Microsoft I.T Academy’s effort in promoting Information Communication education in unity schools across the country.

Nwaobiala, who made the commendation at the official commissioning of I.T Academy learning Hub at Kings College in Lagos, said the Information Communication Technology (ICT) centre built in the school environment by Krystal Digital Ltd. would aid teaching and learning of students on I.T education.

He congratulated the Principal Kings College, Lagos for being the pioneer principal under whom such remarkable collaborative project was birthed. “Krystal Microsoft I.T Academy initiative will help the ministry`s commitment in promoting ICT education in federal unity schools across the country”, he stated. “ Nwaobiala said.

Earlier, the Managing Director, Krystal Digital Ltd. an I.T academy, Temitope Ogunsemo, said that the gesture was to enhance the teaching and learning of ICT education among unity school students.

Ogunsemo said that the I.T academy partnered with Microsoft Company to teach both students and teachers in federal unity school all I.T suites.

He added that the I.T suites includes, microsoft words, excel, power point, adobe page makers among several others.
  “Modern day learning equipment will be used to teach the students and teachers ICT education for them to meet with modern day technology.
“The modern equipment includes, interactive board, pointer, projectors, solar and inverter to complement electrical power supply and computer base settlement (CBS), “ he said.

Ogunsemo said, that 8 ICT centre has been built by it I.T company across some unity schools in South-west.
   He added that there were ongoing plans to build more ICT centres across federal unity schools in the country.
