‘Empire’ star, Trai Byers ‘gives’ co-star shock engagement on her birthday

Trai Byers may have been that over-ambitious, bi-polar son from the other side of heaven in the hit American television series, Empire, but in reality, he knows what he wants and how to get it. Well, so it appears.

Byers, known as Andre in Empire, landed a big one last Sunday when co-star Grace Gealey, who plays the obnoxious Anika Calhoun in the TV series, accepted his marriage proposal.

According to Us Weekly source, Byers ‘surprised her on her birthday. He popped the question and she was totally surprised and elated.
‘She can’t stop looking at the ring. They celebrated all night.’

If this were to happen on Empire, Lucius Lyon, played by Terrence Howard, would probably have Andre committed into a rehab centre for the rest of his life.
