The lawmaker representing Anambra Central Senatorial Zone, Senator Uche Ekwunife, has advocated for a female Minister to head the Federal Ministry of Works, even as she wants a man to supervise the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development.

Addressing party faithful during Stakeholders meeting of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP for Anambra Central senatorial zone in Awka yesterday, Senator Ekwunife argued that women have shown capacity in various political offices they have held in the past to be entrusted with bigger responsibility of Minister for Works in the country.

“Women have shown capacity in all offices entrusted to them in the country and it will not be a bad idea if a woman is made the Minister for Works for the first time in Nigerian democratic process.
