EFCC quizzes Saraki’s wife
Yar’Adua’s daughter absent
THE Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has questioned the wife of Senate President and former first lady of Kwara State, Toyin Saraki, over allegations of shady contract awards during her husband’s tenure as governor.
Details of the allegations were yet scanty. Mrs. Saraki, who reported at the EFCC Headquarters in Abuja, was interrogated for several hours and was not yet released as at 4:30p.m.
However, daughter of late President Umaru Yar’Adua and former first lady of Kebbi State, Zaina Dakingari, did not appear for questioning on Monday as earlier communicated to the EFCC. The commission’s spokesman, Wilson Uwujaren, told The Guardian that he was not aware that Zalingari took further permission to that effect.
Media reports indicate that EFCC wants to question Dakingari over alleged misappropriation of N2 billion state funds.
